The neighbourhood known as Ford is located in Southeast Oakville. The area is a mix of older homes on large lots and newer homes built in the 1970's and 1980's on smaller lots.
The Ford neighbourhood lies south of Cornwall Road, north of Lake Ontario and between Maple Grove Drive to the west and Winston Churchill Blvd. to the east. 
Many homes boast premium wooded, greenspace or ravine lots. Some properties back onto Joshua's Creek. At one time this area was actually known as Joshua Creek. Today the "new"Joshua Creek is located in North east Oakville near Dundas St. and Ninth Line.
The Ford area is served by Maple Grove Plaza which offers numerous shops, a gas station and the local Tim Hortons. Two arenas are located closeby. Maple Grove arena and Canlan Ice Sports.
The public elementary schools in the area are Chisholm and Maple Grove. The closest high school is Oakville Trafalgar on Devon Road.
Like Oakville's Morrison area, many streets in the Ford area are under redevelopment with newly constructed homes mixed in with original bungalows.
This area is within close proximity of Oakville's Ford Plant, hence the neighbourhood name. Plenty of parks and trails are scattered throughout for the use and enjoyment of the residents. 
Homes in Ford are all detached with a mix of bungalows, split levels and two storey styles.
Entry level prices for the area start close to the $700,000 mark with larger executive homes and custom builds selling in the $1,000,000 plus range.
